Field hockey: Mamaroneck not quite thrilled with the end result

It was a little frustrating leaving the field with a scoreless tie after playing a dominant game, so Mamaroneck spent a good 15 minutes huddled up in the corner of the field this evening sorting through a couple of minor issues.
Scarsdale was definitely happier about the end result after being out-shot by a 19-1 margin.
“Our first goal is to win,” Mamaroneck senior Jillian Richards said. “The same thing happened against Suffern, and they were happy with the final, too. We kind of take that as a compliment, but we have to work harder to get a win.”
While the Raiders were counting down the final seconds, the Tigers were hoping for one more look at the goal.
“I was happy with the intensity and the positioning,” said Mamaroneck coach John Savage, who’s team has given up only three goals this season. “We’re just not finishing.”
Emily Knapp made 18 saves to keep the Raiders in the game.
