Girls volleyball: Croton gaining confidence in new surroundings

The new league alignments have forced a number of interesting matchups to say the least. Ossining, Hen Hud and Croton all happened to land in the same league, which has provided some competitive moments on the court.
Croton is the underdog in that group on size alone.
“We’re the little Class C school that’s in there playing with the As and Bs,” said Croton head coach Robin Cook whose team improved to 9-1 with a thrilling five-set win at Ossining
today. “The kids were nervous at the beginning. We only had one C school on the schedule and it’s a match I added, but that’s OK, it’s making us better.”
Who’s going to stay with the Tigers in sectionals?
The only loss to date came against Hen Hud, which hasn’t lost yet.
Based on what I saw, Croton has a number of strong finishers in Kerry Horan, Stephanie Vlad, Becca Soucy, Katie Farnell and Brittany DeCesare. Both setters, Danielle Patalano and Jenn Agosta cover a lot of ground, and there’s plenty of depth, too.
Throw in all of the experience they are getting from a competitive schedule and they have to be a favorite, don’t they?

you should head over the byram hills and check out their team…..they are undefeated and have only lost 2 sets all year
