There are only so many lessons that can be reinforced following a loss, so there was plenty of positive emotion when Stepinac beat Xavier 2-0 and got into the win column for the first time all season.
Robert Padilla scored the first goal on a rebound and Jason Vargas Jr. sealed the win late in the second half.
“Our boys are ecstatic,” first-year coach Jason Vargas Sr. said. “The last two games have been ties and we finally got the win. This is my first win as a varsity coach and it show’s our boys that the hard work is paying off.”
