Westlake topples Pelham in girls volleyball

There was a major showdown today over at Pelham high school. Westlake came out looking to beat Pelham after losing to them earlier in the season at the White Plains tournament and two hours after they started, they did just that.

The Wildcats came out with 25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 15-25, 26-24 victory tonight. Nicole Petrillo owned the court for the Wildcats raking in 15 kills and 10 digs, along with 23 assists.Victoria Maio was a contributor to the Wildcats win with 23 digs.

As for the Pelicans, Deanna Maruschak had 13 digs despite a bloody nose early in the first game. She returned in the second to finish out the match. Talia Peck continued to lead the Pelicans with 15 kills, eight aces and five digs.
