We’re about 5 minutes away from the start of state finals. Let’s see if Section 1 can maintain their momentum from yesterday.
Once I have results I will let you know if anyone is a state medalist.
Just some food for thought; like in track, awards are given for the federation and the public schools so if some from the psal or chsaa medal place in top 10, they are not in thr public school medals.
Update 1: In the 200-yard medley relay, Brewster ties for the title with a time of 1:49.36.Ursuline, Fox Lane, and Horace Greeley finished 5th, 8th, and 9th respectively.
Update 2: In the 200 free, Kelly Johanson of Mamaroneck finished in 6th place and Kristi Edleson of Brewster finished eighth in the federation titles. Courtney Ciardiello of Rye/Blind Brook jumped into the medals in third place.

Update 6: On her final dive, Young, scored a 43.20 on her 2-1/2 twisting dive to give her an overall score of 381.85. She finished in 12th place.
Update 7: Ali Polhill is the state champion in the 100 butterfly. Melissa Trail of Fox Lane took 3rd. Dani Sims of Byram Hills finished 5th. Ciardiello finished 6th. Michelle Hogan (Ursuline) finished 8th. Maddy Berkman finished 9th. Polhill’s time of 55.20 is an automatic all-American time.
Update 8: Melissa Fulenwider of Rye/Blind Brook finished 3rd in the 100 free.
Update 9: Johanson is the public school bronze medalist in the 500 free (5th in federation). Edleson finished 5th in public school and 7th in the federation.
Update 10: Ursuline finished 4th in the PHS meet and 5th in the federation. Fox Lane finished 6th in PHS and 7th in federation.
Update 11: Polhill won the backstroke state title with a time of 56.45, which is an automatic all-American time. Sims finished 6th, Trail was 8th, and Monica Poleway finished ninth.
Update 12: Arnott finished in seventh in the breaststroke. Lauren Flower of Ursuline was ninth.
Update 13: In a wild 400 free relay, Brewster came back to finish second. Much in part due to Polhill doing a 50.70 final split.
Post meet: Another banner day for the Section and retain their status as the strongest swimming section in the state scoring 86o points. Polhill follows in the footsteps of Kim Holden and former Bears teammate Stef Niessl who won 2 individual state titles.
