The Hornets trailed 1-0 at halftime. Andy Fazio scored the first goal for Lakeland (3-1). Ketcham slipped to 4-2.

Foci, a two-time all-Section goalie and first-team Journal News all-star as a junior, had shoulder surgery on July 8.

“He was cleared for the field but not for diving,” coach Tim Hourahan said. “We’re going to use him wherever we need him. Today was up top, and he stepped up in our biggest win of the year so far. We’re hoping he gets clearance to play goalie before the season ends. But sophomore Steven Reiche is doing a great job.”

Reiche had six saves against Ketcham.

Scarsdale rallied from a one-goal deficit to knock of Eastchester, 2-1, in overtime on Tuesday. Michael Abraham scored both goals in the game. The first was with 18 minutes left in regulation to tie and the winner was with four minutes left in the second overtime session.

Abraham (pictured right) was mobbed by his teammates, who poured off the bench as his 20-yard shot rolled past Eastchester goalie Carlos Patino and into the net in the sudden-death OT.

Overall, a great game to watch. Eastchester went up 1-0 in the first half on a Macello Padula goal. The Eagles then tried to play the second half with one forward and their entire defense sagged back to protect the goal. Scarsdale moved the ball extremely well and still managed to get a bunch of scoring opportunities but couldn’t convert.

Part of it was due to the brilliant play of Patino, who made 16 saves. Many were diving against a Scarsdale team that could have easily put up five or six goals in the game.

Other boys scores from tonight:

Irvington 2, Solomon Schechter 1
Dobbs Ferry 2, Pelham 1
New Rochelle 2, Mamaroneck 0
Ramapo 1, Nanuet 0
Spring Valley 6, Clarkstown North 0
Salesian 7, All Hallows 1
Edgemont 6, Hastings 2
Suffern 1, Albertus Magnus 0
North Rockland 3, Tappan Zee 0

Jake Thomases was at the Suffern-Albertus Magnus game. We’ll both have stories in Wednesday’s Journal News.
